Fabulous autumn days
Autumn is my favourite month. I miss the smell of burning leaves now though. Of course we can no longer do this greenhouse emission activity anymore.
Today I sat out on my new deck, watching more workers. This time they are removing all the rubbish from the making of the deck. Found a beaut bit of solid wood which came from under the old verandah. Previous owner had just piled junk under there.
My mission in these balmy days is to get the garden looking a little better. We can't water here, except for 2 days a week at 6am to 8am with a trigger nozzle spray. The other day I was using a rake to clean off the paths out the front. A neighbour had got keen to sweep the entire neighbourhood, after the storm we had. He came to our nature strip and gave a nose up look at it even though I had raked it. So today, I swept it and the other paths, as well as doing a lot of weeding. Hard work.
Out the back there are now lots of pots on the deck, all of them geraniums. That makes me want to put herbs and bulbs there instead, but they cost a lot of money. In fact gardening can cost a lot of money. Money I don't have at the moment.
